Cavalry Captain Witold Pilecki was accused, among others, of creating a spy network and preparing an assassination of state officials. He denied accusations formulated in first three points (a-c) and pleaded guilty to the last three explaining at the same time that the found weapon came from the time of the Warsaw Uprising which he had hidden before being taken POW and had not been used by anyone since that time. His testimonies did not count, however, nor did his achievements and activities during the occupation. Reports on his stay in Auschwitz were not admitted as evidence in the case by Colonel Józef Różanski who supervised the investigation.
