Manuel Carneiro de Sousa Bandeira Filho (1886-1968) was a poet from Pernambuco, as well as a Literature and Arts critic, draughtsman, literary historian, translator, professor of literature, federal inspector of education appointed by Vargas, member of the Brazilian Academy of Letters and of the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Advisory Council. The great Brazilian poet was also one of the intellectuals captivated by Vargas.
