The physician and professor Ivolino de Vasconcellos was the founder of the Brazilian Institute of the History of Medicine, in November 1945. Its importance lies mainly in the consolidation of Brazilian medical historiography. He also founded the National Federation of the History of Medicine and Related Sciences. In 1949, he launched the Revista Brasileira de História da Medicina and was responsible for the first three Brazilian congresses on the History of Medicine in 1951, 1953 and 1958. Copy from the Getulio Vargas Collection at the Museu da República n. 37 on parchment paper, with a special edition of forty copies.
