DIOPTASIUM is a rare and very valuable gemstone, however, it is not hard enough to serve as a jewel. Although it is not hard enough to be used as an ornament or in jewelry, DIOPTASIUM can be cut to bring out the best in the gem. Cut, the DIOPTASIA have a surprising appearance. DIOPTASIUM is not a very common gemstone. It is found in copper veins that have been oxidized by air or water and in some cavities that surround this type of rock. It should never come into contact with muriatic acid, nitric acid or liquid ammonia, as all these substances dissolve DIOPTASIUM.
