Departing Kakegawa station and crossing the bridge over the Futase River, the traveler arrives at the fork in the road to Mt. Akiba—which enshrines Akiba Gongen, the god of fire prevention. In the distance is the deep black Mt. Akiba. On the bridge, two travelers on a pilgrimage bow their heads to the priest coming from the other side. One of the famous kites of Enshu jumps out of the frame as it dances up high in the sky.
