In the 1930s, Lenci offered a new series of small dolls with wide eyes and O-shaped mouths very convincingly expressing a moment of surprise. Consumers, used some of these 9-inch dolls with felt loops attached to the back of their necks to decorate the interiors of their automobiles or to hang as room decorations.
