“Não pare de Olhar” (Don't stop looking) is part of the series “Não pare sobre os Olhos” (Don't stop over the eyes), made by Eliane Prolik between 2003 and 2004. Appropriating urban signposts, the artist brings to reflection several themes relevant to civilization, such as freedom, conditioning, automatism, alienation, information and communication. “Não pare de Olhar”, in particular, is an invitation to read, but that in doing so “Não pare sobre os Olhos”, that is, notice what is not written, or what is beyond visible. Eliane Prolik was born in Curitiba (PR), in 1960. She began her studies in free art courses at the Youth Center for Plastic Arts, Center for Creativity and Alfredo Andersen Museum, in Curitiba. She graduated in Painting in 1981 and specialized in History of Modern and Contemporary Art at the School of Music and Fine Arts of Paraná. In 1985, she traveled to Italy and studied with Luciano Fabro (1936-2007), exponent of Arte Povera, at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan. She started his artistic production with drawing and engraving, but from 1986, she began to dedicate himself to three-dimensional production, treating with precision and lightness the qualities of matter, shape and space using conceptual operations and procedures for appropriating everyday elements, which involves the body's and perceptive experience of the public.
