A Dutch Christmas plate made by De Porceleyne Fles in Delft in 1918. Many factories in Europe produced commemorative Christmas plates. This De Porceleyne Fles blue and white "Kerstmis" or Christmas 1918 plate, signifies the hope of bringing about final peace after World War I. The Delft plate was painted by JD van Velzen (1886-1938) a well-known artist at De Porceleyne Fles or Porcelain Jar factory.
