Dutch Treat was composed in three horizontal strips or areas. Most of the fabrics collected by the artist during three teaching trips to the Netherlands. The top and bottom sections used antique and reproduction Dutch fabrics as well as Dutch sheeting and clothing fabrics. Traditional blocks were selected. The center section was composed mainly of new silk-screened fabrics by Atelier Paapje. A few of the traditional fabrics were used for continuity.
