Advertising fan with imitation ivory sticks and guards pressed with decorative motifs.

The double paper leaf is printed on the recto with an elaborate arrangement of baroque-rococo style scrollwork borders and decorative ornamental devices surrounding three circular medallions (containing illustrations based on Eighteenth Century engravings). The central medallion is after an engraving by Jean-Michel Moreau le Jeune (1741 – 1814) entitled ‘Le Rendez-vous pour Marly’ (c. 1777).

The verso is printed in monochrome with a linear design of ornamental motifs and borders in a similar vein to the recto.
