Chronometer mounted in brass gimbals in hinged wooden box having brass hardware (hinges, latch, side handles), brass inlay on corners and ivory disk above latch.Box has two hinged lids. The middle of these fitted with glass. Dial marked Thos. Earnshaw, Inv.& Fecit No. 855" hours marked in Roman numerals. Seconds dial marked in Arabic in 10-second increments.
