Reproduction of two auriscalpies, it has a circular and flat head joined by a neck to the body of the object.
The auriscalpia were used to clean the wax from the ears, they are normally composed of a stem with a circular section at one end of which a pointed instrument or an olive-shaped dilation usually appears, some are a flat, circular and slightly advanced spoon with with respect to the axis of the handle.
These utensils appear a lot in classical sources, although their majority use was for cleaning the ears, they are also known for other uses to treat pathologies in the urinary tract, for example extraction of stones or to remove poultices in hemorrhoid operations.
The most used material was bone but auriscalpies made of ivory, bronze, silver or gold have also been found.
