Emerging Creative: Marcus van der Hoven

Marcus van der Hoven studied architecture at the University of Pretoria.

Practising as a furniture designer and maker, some of his most notable projects are located in the heart of Rosebank’s burgeoning office developments. Focusing on place-making through the use of furniture as intervention, all of the pieces designed by his practice ‘Takk Studio’ are created through the application of his architectural training and experience in the trade industry.

Takk Studio focuses on creating furniture that remains accessible in design and use; pieces are designed to ship in a flat packed form but remain lasting in quality of connection, material and design aesthetic.
