Equestrian statue of Mastino II della Scala

Master of the Tomb of Mastino II

Museo di Castelvecchio

Museo di Castelvecchio
Verona, Italy

The equestrian statue of Mastino II Della Scala comes from the Scaligeri’s tombs enclosure. The sculpture, a little weather-worn by the elements, is probably the work of the same unknown but brilliant stonemason who had created, shortly before, the equestrian statue of Cangrande I.
