Insect Museum of West China

Insect Museum of West China
Chengdu, China

Adult Euchirus longimanus are 52-85mm long and have super-long forelegs. Usually the males have a larger body size than females. The record of the largest body length of this species is the same as that of the Cheirotonus jansoni collected in the Insect Museum of West China, but with its longer forelegs, it is the largest long-armed scarab in the world. Found in Indonesia's Malugu Islands and Sulawesi Islands, local people use coconut milk to attract and collect it.
