Brochure Launch & Video Premiere Enter the Pavilion
on Saturday September 17, 2016 at 3 PM
at the Alvar Aalto Pavilion of Finland, Giardini di Castello, Venice
Lukas Beer, Duy An Tran and Ksenija Zdesar from 'a team’ about the event:
"Since we are all currently living and working in Berlin, we are interested in capturing the city’s geographical and political context. As part of our research we launched an open call in which we express our concern on topics of migration, current housing issue and related urban development. What we put in question are theoretical designs, such as the ones in this exhibition – From Border to Home – as well as ongoing construction in Berlin – where the city is currently producing prefabricated housing and container villages.
The goal throughout our research is to seek direct contact with those in charge – planners as well as authorities – to achieve a realistic representation of the status quo. At he event we will be presenting a video sneak-peak into three of the many current construction sites. In addition, we will be launching a brochure, where we have summarized our correspondences with institutions, architects and authorities, with the aim to understand how things could be changed actively, as well as the results of our open call Enter Mahrzahn-Hellersdorf."
