Page 23 of the Ex Libris 1 album, a compilation of unknown origin that contains labels or property marks of existing books within the collections of the National Library of Peru.
Bookplates are marks commonly placed on the back of the top cover of books, although it is sometimes attached after the colophon, on the frontispiece, or on the title page. These marks create a link of belonging, in addition to allowing to know personal aspects of the collector or institution that treasures it.
