Exlibris or bookplate of Carlos Cueto Fernandini (1913-1968), Peruvian educator and philosopher. He was UNESCO officials, director of the National Library of Peru between 1962 and 1966, and Minister of Public Education between 1965 and 1966.
In particular, this bookplate was designed by the Peruvian artist Ricardo Grau and bears the phrase of the poet Lucrecio: Etquasi cursores vitai lampada tradunt (And as runners deliver the torch of life). Researchers have identified that the symbol represents, in this case, the transmission of culture from generation to generation through books, an allegory that coincides with the role and educational commitment that characterized this character.
