Exlibris or bookplate of Mariano Felipe Paz Soldán (1821-1886), Peruvian historian and geographer. Author of titles such as "History of independent Peru", "Geographical Atlas of Peru" and "Historical narrative of the Chilean war against Peru and Bolivia".
Bookplates are labels or marks placed as ownership seals on books, commonly on the inside of the cover, flyleaf, or frontispiece. They are elements that reflect qualities, tastes, trajectory or the history of its owner, usually with a great aesthetic charge. In particular, this bookplate is in the Ricardo Palma collection of the BNP.
