Exlibris of Hipólito Unanue (1755-1833), notable Peruvian doctor and public official. He was one of the signatories of the Act of Independence in the Cabildo de Lima in 1821.
Exlibris or bookplates are marks commonly placed on the back of the top cover of books, although it is sometimes attached after the colophon or on the title page. These marks create a link of belonging, in addition to allowing to know personal aspects of the collector or institution that treasures it.
