Luncheon on the Grass (Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe)

Manet's famous work, Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe , now on display at the Museé D'Orsay. It was not considered a work worthy of being exhibited at the Paris Salon by the Juris, both for technical quality and for representing the nude in an innovative way. That is to say, the academic nude was transported to everyday Parisian reality, a mythological nymph at a Parisian picnic.
