Entering a forest I saw a backlit large dark mass on the ground. Sticking out, upwards and sideways, there were hundreds and thousands of branches, as if they were the legs of some gigantic animal, a spider, for example. Since I usually carry paper and paintings, it occurred to me to paint it there, but then I found it best to make some lateral views, with the trunks uprooted from the ground, an image of death and renewal in nature.
