While Coco Chanel was revolutionizing the fashion world, Man Ray was revolutionizing the way of photographing it. His first photographs in this segment took place in 1924 for Vogue magazine, shortly afterwards for Harper’s Bazzar. Having to work with artificial mannequins, the photographer gave vent to his creativity, specially developed for Harper’s Bazzar. Some time later, already with real mannequins, he introduced a new style of fashion photography, in which the contrasts of light and shadow, close-up, framing and everything that collaborated so that the photography caught the eye, came into play, as if it were a true work of art
