Museum of World Culture
Göteborg, Sweden

This feather ornament is worn mainly by men during festivities. It is made of caraguata (bromelia pinguin) fibres and ñandu feathers. Among the We’hnayey (matacos), this ornament is called as sletek-hi. It is worn as a headband, and sometimes can also feature pieces of shell. Clothing has changed deeply in the last century among the We’hnayey, however sletek-hi is still used. From Rio Pilcomayo (Pilcomayo River), Tarija, Bolivia
