The surprising mastery in the realization of this youthful work is particularly evident in the projecting planes, more pronounced in the torsion of the centaur at the top, so much so that the head is made almost in an all-round way, as well as in the tense arm of the one about to succumb, while the far-off parts, such as the arm wielding a club and the legs in the background, have a very low relief that softens the chiaroscuro.
