The Fire Dragon Festival held on the Mid-Autumn Festival is the liveliest night in Pokfulam Village every year. The villagers work through every detail of the whole process, including the fire dragon making, the event coordination and the fire dragon dance. On the festival night, the fire dragon parades through the whole village, worshipping the gods at Li Ling Divine Pagoda, the God of Earth Shrine and other locations, before stepping out of the village. The parade continues to the beach at Waterfall Bay, where the fire dragon returns to the sea to thank the gods' protection. The festival not only unites the villagers, but also attracts many former residents who have moved out to come back and participate. The public are also welcome to watch the parade or even place incenses on the dragon for good luck.
