Victor Akhlomov was born in 1939. He is one of the most famous photojournalists in the former Soviet Union and in Russia today. Throughout his life, Victor Akhlomov received several important awards, such as the first prize from the Union of Photographers of Russia. Victor Akhlomov has received the World Press Photo award four times and is the winner of the biggest prize awarded to photography in Russia, the Golden Eye.
