Long bone object with a pointed end and a faceted surface formed by abrading and polishing. The shaft has convergent edges towards the distal end, a very flat lenticular shaped profile and is of constant thickness along its length. It was made from a long bone or rib bone of a medium or large sized mammal. It has been interpreted as being a piece of personal adornment, probably used to pin the hair in place. These types of objects are usually associated with burials and appear with other objects of personal adornment and tools as part of the grave goods. A number of similar rods to this one and from other sites such as la Cova de la Barcella in Torremanzanas or la Cova de la Pastora in Alcoy have been published. C.S.: 3907 Unpublished
