Ex situ breeding programs provide a certain security for endangered species. Foot-flagging frogs took a while to start reproducing in a captivity, but patience and efforts of scientists in Schönbrunn Zoo finally paid off. After frogs' enclosures became authentic replicas of their original complex habitats, including waterfalls, strong currents and stagnant pools, foot-flagging frogs decided they like it, and started to mate. A success story!
