description of the project: Diogo Machado aka ADD FUEL, is the first of the 5 urban artists that the FORGOTTEN project took during six months, to the center of Rome, showing the best of the Portuguese Urban Art. Between 12 and 18 September, it was possible to accompany the work of this artist, two steps from one of the most central and tourist sites of Rome, Piazza del Popolo, specifically Piazza dela Marina 31 (opposite the Ministry of the Navy). As in all of his interventions, ADD FUEL gave priority to the place, seeking to contextualize and integrate his work in the city and culture. The piece entitled 'This Connection' emerges as a 'harmonious disconnect between the work I have been developing, around rethinking the aesthetics of Portuguese pattern tiles and the Roman' cosmati 'style, which is characterized by mosaic work And a geometric stone typically used in medieval Rome. "Once again, the artist creates in" This Connection "two imaginary universes combining characters of (almost) scientific fiction and decorative elements of great plasticity, an unmistakable trait and equally makes a Exemplary use of 'trompe l'oeil', merging the shapes with the wall in depth and movement, giving space to the exhibition of the before and the several new layers, which represent the two cultures in (un) connection. The FORGOTTEN project, as the name implies, intends to debate 'forgetting', using as support of the various interventions, forgotten places in the city, unused spaces in its center, voids of function, returning them in this way to the urban fabric.
