Over the years, single-seat racing cars have become faster and faster: today they can reach speeds of 280 km/hr, accelerating from 0 to 100 in 2.8 seconds, with zero CO2 emissions.Formula E of Ceará - The project devises 4 sustainable prototypes of SAE formula electric cars, in partnership with 4 Brazilian universities. The idea is to use automobile sport as a means to expand teaching, research and extension spaces on electric mobility and issues related to the theme, such as research on Smart Grids and storage of energy in batteries more efficiently. The project integrates the concept of Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), an international competition modality in which undergraduate and graduate engineering students (especially Electrical and Mechanical) build formula vehicles. It has two central axes: the training of students and the sharing of technology for the development of automotive prototypes and the realization of the Electrical Formula competition. The Ceará Electric Formula, a project that unites sport, education and knowledge production in a unique action in the country and allows the creation of a unique research and technical cooperation center, since it involves, in addition to the Government of the State of Ceará, 5 higher education institutions, being the University of Fortaleza (Unifor), Federal University of Ceará (UFC), the Federal Institute of Education of Ceará (IFCE) and the International University of Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusophonia (Unilab) and the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). The project also had the support of private companies such as energy distributor Enel and Cinco Elementos Produções.
