Matthias Casimirus Sarbievius, Lyricorum libri IV. Epodon liber unus alterque epigrammatum. Antwerp, 1632.
The history of Lithuania, as well as current events of the time, hold a significant place in the works by Matthias Casimirus Sarbievius. An ode dedicated to Paweł Kozłowski, a friend from his studies in Vilnius, distinguishes itself from the rest of his poetry. Sarbievius invites his friend to put aside his studies and, after climbing Lukiškės Hill, admire the views of Vilnius surroundings together with him, the bends of the River Vilija (now Neris) and the towers of Gediminas Castle.
