The operation of a railway system depends on several support activities, often out of sight, but which are essential for trains to run with the best conditions and in complete safety. One of these activities is the inspection and maintenance of infrastructure, which has its own vehicles for specific purposes. This is the case of quadricycles, used in the company since 1931, with the aim of modernising conditions of the line's maintenance and inspection work. Vehicle adapted to travel on rails, distributed to Section Supervisors and used for permanent way inspections. It is powered by a pedal system, driven by occupants of the rear seat and braked manually by one of the crew members. It is fitted with stirrups and footrests for front seat occupants, namely the inspection staff.
