A member of the mica group, FUCHSITA is a rare species of great interest to mineral collectors. FUCSITE is a green variety of muscovite, one of the minerals in the mica group. In many ways it is similar to the verdita. FUCHSITA is named after Johann Nepomuk Fuchs, an 18th-century German geologist who studied various forms of mica. FUCSITE contains a higher concentration of the chromium oxide compound than any other member of the mica group.
