Gdańsk 2017

A contemporary view of riverside Gdańsk created by Edward Dwurnik, one of the most renowned modern Polish painters. The work combines the depiction of the historical architecture of the city with the artist's signature simplified style, thus providing a new look at a well-known cityscape and adding unexpected meanings. The acquisition of this painting to the Museum of Gdańsk initiated the creation of a collection of city views as portrayed by artists active today.
