Museum of Gdańsk

Gdańsk was once considered the key to everything. All of the major breakthroughs of the modern world began in this seaside city. This is where World War II broke out, as well as the road to freedom in Eastern Europe was set up by the Solidarity movement.

Our Museum tells the story of the liberty, integrity and wisdom that formed the phenomenon of contemporary Gdańsk. Our ten departments are situated in some of the city's most remarkable buildings and outstanding locations. The exhibitions and collections on display at those sites will let you find your own key to unlock the amazing centuries of history, sophisticated culture and incredible life stories that made Gdańsk the fascinating urban community it is today.
