This double scroll positions a beautiful woman from Kyoto on one scroll, and one from Edo on the other, arranged so both ladies are facing each other. The lower lip of the geisha from Kyoto iridescently glistens from her dark reddish-blue lipstick, and the decorative kanzashi hairpins and other hairpins are inserted in her hair in near parallel, clearly showing us the popular fashion trend in the Kyoto-Osaka area at the time.
