The General Assembly elected fifteen members of the Human Rights Council for three-year terms beginning on 1 January 2018. Those elected were: Afghanistan, Angola, Australia, Chile, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Qatar, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, Slovakia, Spain, Ukraine.
