Picture of a girl with shawl and flowers in her hair on a black background. Signature and date on the top left corner: "Arpa 80". Analysis suggests that this work was trimmed on the sides to fit it to a new stretcher that was smaller than the original. It may be one of the first known works by the artist given that at this point he had not yet finished his Fine Art studies in Seville. The location of the signature in the top corner only appears on some work at the start of his career: one dated in Rome in 1885 and others in Melilla in 1893. This hypothesis is also corroborated by the use of the capital "A", which belongs to his young period.
