Wall fragment of an Italic terra sigillata vase of indeterminate typology. It presents figurative decoration of a satyr playing the double flute. In the fragment, a large part of the human figure is preserved, except for the head (except for the mouth and beard) and part of the lower extremities (calf and foot). It is a satyr seen from the front who is playing the double flute while his muscular body is dancing or marking the rhythm of the music. He covers his back with an animal skin tied around his neck, while the rest of his body is left naked.
As far as the material is concerned, it is a hard paste, very well refined and of an intense pink color. The coating is adherent and dense, quite invasive, of good quality, very shiny and dark brownish red in color (No. 2.5 YR 4/6 on the Munsell Soil Chart).
The figure belongs to type 5 of series VII B that Dragendorf establishes for M.Perennius (maenads and satyrs). This piece probably belongs to the initial Tigranean phase of M.Perennius's workshop.
