The drawing is part a cycle called Fantazmapolis, cycle of fantastic, imagined cities: the city-ships, city-cathedral; cities connected by a multitude of architectural elements in its exuberance and the dense population create perfect harmony and an indivisible unit. People are undefined small specimens, generalized figures in the world of swollen architectonic and ornamental glare that due order and symmetry of their composing the impression of undeniable beauty and harmony.
Drago Jurak was born on November 17 1911 in the village Pušća in Zagorje. He worked as a carpenter in the workshops of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb. The first is the art of teaching received by Krsto Hegedušić and exhibits since 1964. He died on January 1 1994 in Zagreb.
