Case and lid are veneered with mahogany. Decorative elements are in bronze. This grand piano has an extension of seventy-three notes; keyboard has ivory-lined naturals and stained wood sharp blocks. Rebound and escapement action, also known as "Viennese action". Six pedals and a knee lever are designed to insert the following devices: "bassoon", with a parchment cylinder that brushes a few strings; "moderato", with cloth tabs that slip between hammers and strings; "soft pedal", with every hammer striking only one of the double or triple strings provided; "resonance", with dampers raised; "turquerie", different effects obtained by percussion of the sound board with a mallet ("bass drum” effect), the tinkling of three bells ("bell” effect) and percussion of some bass strings with metal plates or rods ("cymbal” effect).
