On the oval pedestal a grandmother pulls the bow. On the right there's a cat watching her. Emphasized ornaments on a scarf that protects a woman's head. Oversized fists warn of her hard work.
Zvonimir Dangubic was born in 1956. in Koprivnica. As a boy he showed a particular interest in carving wood. Fascinated by a masterful sculpture of his uncle Martin Hegedusic, who is still his role-model in a way, began to create sculptures and reliefs in wood. Unlike other sculptors naive, his sculptures are richly detailed, representing the characters and activities of the villages of Podravina. He lives and works in Hlebine.
