Photograph taken at the grave of Patrick and Dorothea Dandridge Henry. From left to right: an unidentified woman, Virginia Governor William Tuck, Reverend Ralph Bellwood, an unidentified man, Regional Director of the Soil Conservation Service Dr. T. S. Buie, and a descendant of one of the Henry family’s enslaved, George Ed Britton. The photograph is one of a collection taken by the Southside District Soil Conservation Service (SCS) on October 18, 1950. They document “Miracle Day” - an SCS demonstration project at Red Hill organized to rehabilitate the neglected farmland for the use of the Patrick Henry Boys Plantation.
