Guarda-rios

‘ObservaRia’* is a bird watching event, held biennially, held in the Municipality of Estarreja.

In 2015, the organization decided to score this event with an Urban Art action and invited us to challenge an artist to work on this theme and venue.

The choice fell almost immediately on Bordalo II and in his ‘Big Trash Animals’, whose motto of work are deeply related to the preservation of Nature.

The animal chosen as inspiration for this installation was the most characteristic bird of this area, the Guarda-Rios.
