Gods for protecting fishing boats called “Funadama-san”. As their whole livelihood depended on very dangerous seas, fishermen were very dedicated to their gods and would make offerings of rice to Funadama-san every morning, praying to return home safely.
Selected as a National Significant Tangible Folk Culture Asset.
Found in Tanabe City,Wakayama Prefecture.
