Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building during the Japanese occupation

Originally built as an internal government office of the Korean Empire government between July 1907 and August 1910 at the Uijeongbu Building site of the Joseon Dynasty (76-2, Sejong-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul), on the left-hand side of Gyeongbokgung Palace, this building became the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Building of the Japanese Government-General of Korea under the Japanese Colonial Rule. When the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office was relocated to Suwon-si on June 23, 1967, the old building was used for various purposes - such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Public Security Bureau, and Annex 1 Building of Seoul Police Bureau - for about twenty years, and was finally demolished in the early 1990s.
