Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation

Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation
Suwon, South Korea

As the first institute of its kind when it was founded in 1997, the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation has spawned Gyeonggi Provincial Museum, Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, Gyeonggi Creation Center, Nam June Paik Art Center, The Museum of Silhak, and Jeongok Prehistory Museum in April 2011 and Gyeonggi Children's Museum in September 2011 as the most recent additions, embracing the region's history.
The museum and art galleries are open to visitors all-year round with extended exhibition hours, offering educational and experience programs that accommodated 1.9 million people last year alone. The Foundation is also actively involved in community art, supporting performance halls, talent donation, cultural vouchers for the marginalized sector, and other culture and arts support programs for all 31 cities and gun districts in Gyeonggi-do.
