Gold dobla in the name of the Hafsi Abu ‘Abd Allah al-Mustansir Bi-llah. The legend on both sides of the coin is written in very ornamental Cufic letters, which are written in a quadrant formed by three lines. Type Lavoix 946. The translation of the legend on the obverse side is: The Madi is the Caliph / of Allah, the giving of thanks for Allah / the power and force are in Allah / in the name of the merciful and compassionate Allah / that Allah may be kind to our Lord / Mohammed, there is only one Allah / Mohammed is the Apostle of Allah. The translation of the legend on the reverse side is: Abu ‘Abd Allah / Mohammed, son of the Emirs / rightful / al-Mustansir / Bi-llah al-Mansur/ for the grace of Allah / prince of believers. The coin was minted by the Hafsi dynasty, which, with its capital in Tunis reached in the 13th century, its period of greatest prosperity. As is the norm with all Islamic coin issues, it is totally epigraphic, and lacks any religious motifs or human representations. Coin Inventory Nº. 4528. Unpublished.
