Eppendorf had a communal cemetery of its own, well into the 20th century, at the junction of Eppendorfer Landstrasse and Kümmelstrasse. During construction work on the site of the former cemetery in 1950, a couple of pewter coffin fittings came to light and were handed over to the museum. They tell of the people who were laid to rest in this cemetery.
